17 year old, Arielle Newman, a runner and student, died recently from what the med examiner said was a case of “high levels of methyl salicylate: an anti-inflammatory found in sports creams such as Bengay and Icy Hot.” Dr. Grelsamer, of Mount Sinai Medical Center, said “the kid had a crazy amount of methyl salicylate in her body.” How much did she rub on? How much is “too much”?
