Hating It Magazine — Now A Source For the Wall Street Journal?

Apparently. Remember “Logan’s Hating It Rant: Batman, Kinda like the Bush Admin.? That was something I posted on July 23. On July 25, the Wall Street Journal Opinion page comes out with this:

What Bush and Batman Have in Common

The nitwit who writes it, one ANDREW KLAVAN. is a right wing tool of the highest order and actually praises Bush for being like Batman. He writes:

There seems to me no question that the Batman film “The Dark Knight,” currently breaking every box office record in history, is at some level a paean of praise to the fortitude and moral courage that has been shown by George W. Bush in this time of terror and war. Like W, Batman is vilified and despised for confronting terrorists in the only terms they understand. Like W, Batman sometimes has to push the boundaries of civil rights to deal with an emergency, certain that he will re-establish those boundaries when the emergency is past…

And what make him so sure that dumb ass dictator-Bush will EVER restore the civil rights he tramples? And, even if he does, which is doubtful, when will this supposed “Emergency” pass? The answer is IT WILL NEVER PASS! We’re dealing with terrorism after all. As long as there is ONE terrorist out there, the emergency is still on. So what this tool of tools is saying is utter nonsense, the same utter nonsense spewed by those who praised Hitler when he dissolved the parliament, or by those who praised Caesar, after he declared himself the dictator to meet a ‘temporary’ crisis only to refuse to give up the roll when the crisis ceased. For a more rational view of why both Batman and Bush are dead wrong about the proper way to fight terrorism, read my original post HERE.

WHATDIYAKNOW! I have a subscription to the Journal and GAWKED Friday when I saw that editorial piece — using the same facts to come to the exact OPPOSITE conclusion of the Hatingitmagazine post!

(Note: Having majored in journalism undergrad, I can also attest that writers steal their ideas from anywhere they can!)
