In Florida this week, a woman was awarded $150,000 after suing her former fiancé for calling off their wedding. The couple was engaged in October 2006 and about 1 month later the guy expressed his second thoughts by leaving a note in their shared bathroom stating that he wanted to postpone the wedding. The female’s reason for suing: “he made a promise to me and I relied on that promise and gave up a lot of things because of that promise”. He even pinky sweared!
